E911 Surcharge Increase
Beginning February 1, 2007, the surcharge levied by the City and Borough of
Juneau on land line and wireless phone services in the Juneau Borough will
increase from $0.75 to $1.90 per line/phone per month. This fee is used solely
to pay for the cost of emergency dispatch services. The increase will fund
operational and equipment improvements necessary to provide enhanced 911
emergency dispatch services. The improvements will also meet the Federal
Communications Commission’s mandate for providing wireless call-back numbers
and caller location information.
