On January 17, 2012, the Juneau Police Department received a report of vandalism to the concession stand at Adair-Kennedy Park. There was profanity spray-painted on the walls and someone had urinated on the building. Further investigation found additional profanity spray-painted on the rear of the Floyd Dryden School. The damage to the properties is estimated at $500.
A review of the security camera footage at the Park showed the vandalism occurred on 01/13/2012, at 7:00pm. The footage showed teenagers were involved in the spray-painting of the graffiti. By using the footage, Officers were able to determine the names of the teenagers involved and spoke with all parties.
The investigation revealed two 12 year old Juneau boys had spray-painted the graffiti and a 15 year Juneau boy had urinated on the building.
At the request of the CBJ Park & Rec staff, the case is being handled through civil means.
