Summary:On May 7, 2012 at about 3:12pm, the Juneau Police Department and Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to a single vehicle roll over crash at 8 mile Egan Drive. Investigation revealed the 42 year old male driver of the vehicle was distracted and took his eyes off the road. The vehicle drove off the shoulder of the road and struck a light pole. The driver then over corrected driving across both inbound lanes of Egan Drive. The vehicle rolled onto its side in the median. The driver was cited for negligent driving and transported by ambulance to Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle is estimated to be a total loss. One inbound and one outbound lane of Egan Drive were closed for approximately 30 minutes while the crash was investigated.
