Summary:On July 26, 2012 at approximately 7:22pm, the Juneau Police Department received a report of crash between a bicyclist and a vehicle on Glacier Hwy at Engineers Cutoff Road. The investigation revealed that Melanie Ann MELVIN, a 57 year old local female resident, was driving her 1993 Subaru Legacy outbound on Glacier Hwy. MELVIN failed to yield as she turned left onto Engineers Cutoff Road, striking a bicyclist who was inbound on Glacier Hwy.

The bicyclist, a 59 year old local male was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital by CCFR for treatment of injuries.

MELVIN was cited for Negligent Driving, Fail to Show Proof of Insurance and Expired Registration, alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
