INFORMATION RELEASE |
| Subject: JPD Low Light Shooting Practice | Date: 11-05-2012 04:13:38 | | From: Lt. Kris Sell | Case or Incident: #NA | | Summary:On Wednesday, 11-7-12, officers of the Juneau Police Department will have firearms practice at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center Range starting at noon until approximately 9:00 p.m.. Because Juneau experiences long periods of low light in the winter, it is important for officers to experience shooting in low light conditions. Members of the public may also see strobes from police car overhead lights in the area as officers practice shooting with illumination coming from those strobes. JPD would like to apologize in advance for any annoyance caused by the noise associated with this important training. This Wednesday session will be for half of JPD's officers. The remaining officers will train on 11-29-12, starting at 2:00 p.m. and ending at approximately 9:00 p.m.. |
