Summary:On March 30, 2013 at about 6:23PM, the Juneau Police Department received multiple reports of a “head on” vehicle collision involving two vehicles in the area of the Alaska Veteran’s Memorial Highway and the ferry terminal. Officers and members of Capital City Fire & Rescue responded and located a two vehicle crash blocking the southbound lane of the highway adjacent to the ferry terminal.

Investigation revealed that a 2001 Toyota Matrix operated by 49 year old Juneau resident Kimberly Sellers was turning into the ferry terminal from the northbound left turn lane when it was struck by a 2001 Toyota Rav 4 that was traveling in the southbound lane and was operated by 39 year old Juneau resident Antonia Leonard.

Both drivers along with 2 juvenile passengers from the Toyota Rav 4 were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were considered totaled due to the extensive front end damage each vehicle sustained.
