Summary:
On 03/15/2014, at approximately 0602 hours, the Juneau Police Department was notified that 31 year old Juneau resident Dakota Gallant had escaped from the halfway house.

At approximately 0714 hours, a JPD officer saw a vehicle being driven by Gallantís girlfriend, 30 year old Juneau resident Jessica Bell. The vehicle was stopped by police in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. Upon contact, officers saw a person attempted to hide under a blanked in the backseat. Bell was removed from the vehicle, became uncooperative, and needed to be physically restrained. Bell was arrested for Interfering with a Police Officer.

The person attempting to hide from officers in the backseat was ordered out of the vehicle at Tazer point. The person exited the vehicle and was identified as Gallant, who was taken back into custody without further incident.

Both Gallant and Bell were transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Additional charges against both Gallant and Bell are pending.

The investigation is continuing.
