Subject: Random Acts Filmmaking Visit to JuneauDate: 08-10-2017 09:31:22
From: Lt. Kris SellCase or Incident: #N/A
Summary: The Juneau Police Department has had an international non-profit called Random Acts as a partner for the 2017 Year of Kindness. You might have noticed the Girl Scouts handing out Random Acts buttons at the July 4th parade. Random Acts is sending two members of that organization to Juneau the last week of August to shoot video about 17YOK.

The public is invited to a celebration of the initiative, and to talk to the filmmakers on 9-1-17, 3pm to 7pm, at the log cabin shelter at Sandy Beach.

The filmmakers would like to hear from people who participated in daily acts of kindness, kindness weeks, or who learned something about themselves during this initiative. Juneau has led the way with the only entire town kindness initiative found anywhere! Maybe Juneau can inspire other communities to similar years of kindness.

We will be roasting some marshmallows and have a fire going to burn up those negatives thoughts or old hurts people have decided to give up to make room for kindness. This is a great time and way to talk about the town so many love.

Please join us on 9-1-17, 3pm to 7pm, at Sandy Beach!
