On 06/17/2018 at about 4:55 AM, the Juneau Police Department received several reports of gunshots being fired in the area of Harris Street and East Street.

Officers arrived in the area and located several people who had been involved in the incident. Officers determined that nobody at the scene was injured and the people involved were detained for further investigation.

The investigation showed there had been a verbal altercation between a 42 year old male Juneau resident, who resides in the 400 block of East Street and at least three people who were visiting a residence in the 400 block of Harris Street; the altercation was regarding loud noise. As the altercation continued, gunshots were fired from the 42 year old resident and an unknown visitor at the residence on Harris Street.

Some of the visitors from the Harris Street residence had left prior to the arrival of police. A gun was located in the possession of the 42 year old resident.

Following the investigation, all parties were released and no arrests were made at that time. This case is still under investigation.
