Questions Posted to "Ask a Dispatcher"

Q. I know most officers are busy at any given time. However, there have been multiple times where I have called specific officers with questions, left a message and have never received a phone call in return. I know JPD does a good job most of the time, however not returning phone calls, in my opinion, seems unprofessional.

Dear Juneau Resident,

Phone calls should be returned as soon as possible. Sometimes calls do keep officers out of the station and then the hit their days off but the public still needs questions answered. If you aren't getting a call back call and ask for the shift supervisor. The sergeants are used to getting calls about things that happened on other shifts and can research for you. If that doesn't work call the patrol lieutenant. JPD has strict rules about updating cases quickly and that usually happens. This means other people with access to you case may be able to answer your questions or have an answer through other means.

Please give us another chance and see if we can answer your questions!
