Q. What do you do when a neighbors dog barks all night? Night after night after night.

Dear Juneau Resident,

JPD shift workers feel your pain. You can make a noise complaint to dispatch at the time it is happening. You can also call animal control during the day with a complaint and ask them if you could sign a citation for an objectionable animal. It might be good for animal control to stop by since dogs sometimes bark for long periods because they lack some basic need being met like shelter or water. The dog could also just be bored because he or she gets put outside and the owner has left or is not bothered by the barking. The dog’s living conditions should be checked to make sure everything is okay.
