Q. The police keeps driving through our neighborhood all morning 04/22, where can I find out what is happening because I have three children who are constantly playing outside and I do not want them to be in any danger if there is danger present.

Dear Juneau Resident,

I don't know where your neighborhood is located so it's tough to give specifics. Some events that could be going on are that we have a call nearby, maybe we are looking for someone, or there is extra patrol because of something like thefts from cars or kids smoking before school.

It's just good sense to keeps kids off the street when you see lots of emergency services activity. You may not know exactly what is happening but if there is a situation it's better to be safe than sorry. After an event and the emergency service vehicles have cleared you can listen to the news or call JPD, 586-0600, to make sure whatever was happening is over.

If you want specifics as to what was happening that particular morning you will need to call JPD and ask or you can write back to Ask A Dispatcher with a specific location.
