Q. Are city employees exempt from the limit of 2 hours free parking downtown with there personal vehicles. As I notice from working downtown they park in the morning and don't move until the end of the day

Dear Juneau Resident,

Q. Are city employees exempt from the limit of 2 hours free parking downtown with there personal vehicles. As I notice from working downtown they park in the morning and don't move until the end of the day

Dear Juneau Resident,

City employees have been asked to use parking spaces in the garages because of the high demand for on-street parking in the downtown area. No, those employees are not exempt from the rules about paying for parking on the street. If you believe a city employee is not following the rules please report it to JPD, for referral to the community service officers, so those officers can check out the situation.
