Q. I have a neighbor that parks their vehicles on the side of the road, in front of their house. This makes our already narrow street a one lane street. Their vehicles have been tagged but all they do is just rotate which vehicle is parked on the street. These neighbors have 9 vehicles in their driveway most of the time. My questions are: Is there an ordinance that states how many vehicles are allowed at one home? and what can be done about the parking in the street?

Dear Juneau Resident,

There is not a limit to how many vehicles a person is allowed to own. You should report parking violations as you see them by calling 586-0600. One of the Community Service Officers consulted about inquiry suggested asking whomever owns the road, CBJ Streets or State of Alaska DOT, to examine the area to determine if 'No Parking' signs could be posted. The raises the potential of daily tickets for parking where device prohibits.
