Q. What is the average call processing time for calls received for emergency assistance?

Dear Juneau Resident,

JPD has a person trained in crime analysis to help us track information of the type you are requesting. She helpfully weighed in on this question.

To make sure we are talking about the same thing, lets define the "average call processing time" as being from the time a call is received until a police or fire unit is on scene. "Calls received for emergency assistance" are calls that dispatch has identified as those with criminal activity or a medical emergency in progress at the time of the call. The average response time so far for 2010 (Jan 1 through Feb 28) is 7 min, 58 sec.
