Q. Are State of Alaska Mail Truck drivers exempt from the speed limit on Egan Dr. Ya I didn't think so!

Dear Juneau Resident,

Obviously you saw someone too eager to deliver something! JPD has in the past stopped those big white trucks with lifts on the back that are carrying US Mail. Those drivers are, in our experience, contract drivers not USPS employees. Regardless of who they work for you should call the complaint in to the post office so supervisors can address the issue either with the employee or contract worker.

JPD is doing speed enforcement on Egan and those trucks have a nice big radar reflecting surface up front. People with commercial driver's licenses tend to experience more significant insurance and employment consequences than the average driver when they get tickets so hopefully this question will serve as a warning.
