Q. FYI...there is a party scheduled to be on 4July on Jugg's lot off Montana Creek Rd. It is advertised on fliers throughout JNU that there is going to be a wet t shirt contest and a monster truck rally. It would be great if JPD would show up and shut them down. The area is a neighborhood and is no doubt going to cause a distraction. If not, expect a lot of phone calls as neighbors in Montana Creek are not going to stand for that kind of behavior.
Dear Juneau Resident,
JPD appreciates the information on these types of events. The most effective way to let us know about these types of events is via phone as we may plan for extra patrol duties like we would during a graduation weekend. I can definitely see where this type of party could create some concern in the neighborhood.
As long as the individual(s) hosting the party on not making any money off of the event they can host it. It sounds like the event is being held on “Jugg’s lot” which is private property. It is not against the law to have the types of events that you have described. However, the two issues JPD may be able to enforce would be “reckless driving” and “disturbing the peace”. If JPD gets a complaint about the volume of noise and officer can be dispatched to determine if it is unreasonable for the time of day. Reckless driving and DUI are the two major traffic violations JPD can enforce on private property.
