Q. There is a person who had my debit card written on a peice of paper and used it to get a hotel when he was released from jail this morning down there the hotel ran it without verification what can i do

Dear Juneau Resident, Bill the Cat used to say. Back away from the computer and immediately call your bank. Cancel that debit card since it is obviously in the wrong hands. Tell your bank what happened and see if the charge is still in a 'pending' status and can be stopped. Then report the incident to JPD by calling 586-0600.

This is a good reminder for everyone to guard your credit and debit card numbers just like you would guard the actual card. You are going to want to look at how this person got the card number and make sure nothing like that happens again.
