Q. why should telecommunicator not give legal advice

Dear Juneau Resident,

The job of a dispatcher is to provide for emergency services and protect the safety of the public. While that may mean they do things like tell someone a domestic violence protective order says they have to stay away from a particular residence, dispatchers aren't qualified to tell people how to handle the divorce!
