Q. what does vcor stand for?

Dear Juneau Resident,

VCOR stands for violating conditions of release. Conditions of release are rules the court gives to people when they are released from jail but have future court appearances scheduled. Some conditions JPD commonly sees are that the person is not to consume alcohol or be in a bar and is not to have contact with the victims of the crime alleged. Sometimes the conditions require the person to observe a curfew or be with a third party custodian. If someone violates his or her conditions of release the person has to go back to jail.
