Q. is it cold up there?
Dear Juneau Resident,
Well, the answer depends on what you call “cold.” As much as I’d love to give you a completely fabricated line about how tough we are living in igloos and commuting via sled-dog, the truth is, Juneau has fairly mild temperatures compared to other parts of Alaska. Now, I’m not talking palm trees and umbrella drinks, but Juneau has a mild, maritime climate and, though 60 below is not our main boast, we do sport a brag-worthy average 55-90 inches of rainfall and 93 inches of snowfall. As for current conditions, check out NOAA.gov or weather.com and punch in our zip code: 99801.
