Q. I was told fireworks are legal. Is this true? I see you posted the city ordinance but there a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo. Can I have a straight forward answer?

Dear Juneau Resident,

Unfortunately very few issues involving the law have simple, straight forward answers. Any simple yes or no response would be wrong in specific situations. I am sure you understand that JPD has to be careful not to give permission, in anyway, for someone to violate a standard in all that mumbo jumbo. If you have a certain firework you want to purchase and use you can call the fire marshals at Capital City Fire and Rescue and ask questions since those folks are the enforcement agents for this issue.
