Q. Those crosswalks near Floyd Dryden and walmart that pedestrians can press, they turn yellow, then red, then flash red and then off. Can you please explain to the public that after the person(s) have made it safely across and the light is flashing red they can proceed with caution? It cleary states in the Alaska DMV book this is aloud but most people wait until the light is off. Thank you.

Dear Juneau Resident,

We have covered this a couple of times but you are right, it is appropriate to proceed in flashing red after stopping and making sure the crosswalk is clear of pedestrians.
