Q. Is it worth call for trucks parked on the side walk so hat kids have to go out in the streetto get around them

Dear Juneau Resident,

It's never legal to park blocking a sidewalk unless the street has a full for partial closure for construction type issues. Certainly call JPD's non-emergency line, 586-0600, if a vehicle is unattended and left for an extended period blocking a sidewalk. The situation that may be difficult for enforcement is those areas with businesses like daycare facilities and parents sometimes block the sidewalk briefly, too briefly to catch them in the act unless an officer is in the neighborhood. If it's that type of temporary blockage you might be more effective talking to the homeowners about the behavior of visitors.
